Today!

March 11, 2022

Psychology_22Good morning.
We’ve already warned recently that one of Russia’s most important exports isn’t oil or natural gas.  Or even wheat.  Rather, it’s fertilizer that the rest of the world needs to support its population and current crop yields.
On Thursday, Russia’s Minister of Industry and Trade announced a suspension of fertilizer exports.  That will likely add to the current inflation in food prices as seen on store shelves.
That makes it more important than ever to stock up on some extra food before prices materially rise from here, and consider investments in Western fertilizer and food companies before the story hits the mainstream (not to mention still-sometimes-bare store shelves).

Now here’s the rest of the news:

Business as UsualGood morning.
Shares of GameStop (GME) topped $300 once again in trading yesterday, although they also dropped to a low of $175 in volatile intraday trading.  The price has been creeping higher in recent days, but without the dizzying speed of the first squeeze.
The company has a lot of potential avenues to end the roller coaster ride up and down.  They could issue shares to hedge funds, allowing them to close their short trade.  The raised capital could be used to pay off debt.  Or buy Bitcoin, as many tech companies have done.  Or take a stake in some other video-game related company.  Any of those moves will allow the company to take advantage of the high price here, and help the company improve its long-term viability as well.

How do you see the GameStop saga playing out from here?

The ‘COVID Relief Bill’ Is Mostly an Expensive Bundle of Politically Motivated GiveawaysEric Boehm
The Senate is preparing to pass a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill that has very little to do with the pandemic, and we all know it.  Congress should admit as much. [Read Here]

Caffe mochaLove writing & telling stories … drinking mochaccinos¹ … listening to upbeat music … and making money … who wouldn’t.  Take it from this ‘The Wise Woman‘.

A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream.  The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food.  The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him.  She did so without hesitation.

The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune.  He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.

But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman.  “I’ve been thinking,” he said.  “I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me some-thing even more precious.  Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone.”  Sometimes it is not the wealth you have but what is inside you that others need.  😉
