Good morning.
As investors, the market’s trend is often based on a preponderance of evidence – how stocks have been trending, what are interest rates doing, how fares the economy, and so on. Most indicators are negative or neutral right now, reflecting a slowing economy and rising interest rates.
But there are a few countertrends. One is a momentum oscillator known as The Coppock, which suggests that stocks may be a good buying opportunity right now. Of course, any investor will tell you that there’s always something worth buying in any market. And with last year’s selloff, there are more bargains than there was a year or two ago.
We’ll stick with being cautious right now, and investors who stick with dividend stocks bought at a reasonable price should fare well now. Traders will continue to benefit from the market’s volatile moves both up and down in the months ahead until a stronger long-term trend emerges.

Good morning.
Faced with rising inflation, the Bank of Canada has hiked its interest rates by 50 basis points, or half a percent. Now, interest rates in the country have hit 1 percent. It’s a sign that central bankers are belatedly recognizing that inflation is out of control, and it’s also a good sign that the Federal Reserve will try to shock inflation down by also raising interest rates 0.5 percent.
In the meantime, the Bank of Canada has announced plans to reduce its balance sheet, a process they’re calling quantitative tightening, or QT. While Fed officials have talked about reducing the balance sheet in the US down the line, the limited history of such attempts in 2019 ended up with the central bank reversing course. Investors should be prepared for further volatility given the heightened potential for further shocks.

Small Business Owners Report What’s Worse Than The Labor Shortage
One of the more foolish ideas in a time full of them is that there is an easy way to “cure” inflation. In fact, what these clever solutions do is create or increase shortages. To put it simply, some of these ideas discourage producers from… [Read Here]

Good morning.
Coinbase is expected to make its initial public offering today. Analysts have provided expectations for the company to trade as high as $600 per share, and potentially with a valuation of $148 billion. That would make for one of the largest companies to go public in history.
With cryptocurrency prices rushing to new all-time highs ahead of the IPO, and with estimates getting increasingly bullish for the space, this big IPO could be a sign of a top. While the chart patterns suggest such a top is a long way off, traders should watch to see how shares perform, as it may give a clue as to the next pause or drop in cryptocurrencies as well.

Good morning. This will be an interesting week as corporate earnings season officially kicks off with the big money center banks announcing earnings.
JP Morgan (JPM) and Wells Fargo (WFC) get us started this morning with expectations of around a 6% move on JPM and around an 8.5% move on BAC. The direction and magnitude of the movement may give an important indication where the next leg of the market is headed. With the large move last week, it makes you wonder if traders will sell the news no matter what.

Bill’s in Airdrie today getting ready for his banquet tonight!
I decided to ride downtown and pick up a car from Enterprise … my reason was … because Car2Go takes apparently several business days to verify one’s driver-licence information.
I need a vehicle today to pick up a few things this weekend that just cannot be safely carried on a bike… propane for the BBQ, a 75M coil of 12/2 wire for the upstairs bathroom, and for simple shopping. I was able to locate a much needed router, two with functioning USB_3.0 ports which I will be able to add to my growing home/business wireless network and surveillance system. As I plan to share with you all later, Enterprise is a great company to rent vehicles from!
Although the ride was actually twice as long as shown here; [the first half of my adventure unfortunately lost]; cycling into the downtown was really quick! Yes! Closing STRAVA without saving it correctly, and then restarting the second-half of the adventure, destroyed any recovery hopes of segment one.
I’ve added music to the ride for a bit of fun! [Turn the MUSIC ON…]
