Good morning. Historically, markets tend to see a volatile September and October. And it’s going into late October when markets can have their worst daily swings. The good news? After this week, markets have historically calmed down. And they’ve tended to move towards a year-end rally.
With a busy week with such economic data points as retail sales, housing, as well as some big-name companies reporting earnings like Tesla (TSLA)and Netflix (NFLX), don’t let this week’s market volatility scare you out of stocks right before a year-end rally. Earnings season should also give traders some opportunities on both sides of the market this week.

Good morning.
Interest rates have been rising at their fastest level in 35 years. Coming off of zero percent, rates are up nearly 2.5 percent in a matter of months. That’s faster than rate hikes in 1994 and 1995 that led to a big market drop. And it makes the pace of the 2015-2018 rate hikes seem slow by comparison.
With last week’s inflation data, a further increase of 0.75 percent is baked into the cards for the November Fed meeting. That will further increase the overall speed of the current rate hikes. And it pushes out the likelihood of a pivot away into 2023.
That suggests markets will remain volatile in the months ahead, even as we get past the autumn months that are historically the worst for markets. That may mimic the 2018 bear market, which saw its low right at the end of the year.

The Survival Organ
The human brain is a survival organ. Its purpose is to keep us alive. It generally does a pretty good job, seeing as we are alive now while we read these tips.
The brain has automatic programs, such as fear, to keep us safe.
Unfortunately, the human brain is not a good “thinking organ.” It hasn’t mastered that yet. We shouldn’t talk to the brain with facts.
Our brains prefer to learn through stories. Stories rock!
Ask ourselves, “How much of our factual presentation can we turn into stories?”
Look at the top leaders. Most of them are great storytellers. That could be a hint.
